Teaching at Boston States Fiddle Camp was a real highlight of October! So fun to play Orkney tunes and dance and catch up with friends all weekend. Also caught up with Bruce and Audrey in the midst of some lovely Hildaland shows. Ate really well at Fore Street in Portland ME (highly recommend!) and harvested things in the garden. 10/10

A lovely show in State College, PA with Brendan, Conor and Ethan, shooting video in the Berklee studios, a run of sweet shows with Liz Simmons and Casey Murray, a trip to Indiana for Thanksgiving and our first time getting upgraded to first (for a 30min flight, but I’ll take that win!) A terrible result in the election (which after almost 10 years living here, I still couldn’t vote in,) and a violet growing through concrete and stone inspiring a song. 5/10

Dec 2024

A wonderful month in the UK, starting out with a visit to London to see my sis, then up to Orkney to catch up with friends and family. Cold sea swims, cheese boards, a beautiful cake made by mum, watching The Outrun on the plane (still want to see it on the big screen, congrats all involved, brilliant film, beautiful shots of Orkney, very emotional!). Back to the States for Hogmanay in the recording studio, taking photos of a teen fiddle band! 10/10
